A PASSION FOR GENEALOGY
All the research of Susie Harrison
The photo above is me in the crater of Monte Nuovo, to the north of Naples, a 'recent' volcano which has become a lovely little natural area, a quiet place in nature.
Introduction to
SUSIE HARRISON
SUSIE HARRISON
My name is Susie Harrison and this is my family tree research, presented in one comprehensive website, a repository for all my discoveries. I love genealogy and am happy to help anyone get started on their own trees or to look into this or that area one may want to enrich. I'm not professional and this is simply my hobby. I am always learning.
I have recently began to reference old newspapers which can so embellish in a human way otherwise factual profiles. There are census's to impart much information too. I always recommend to talk to older members of the family for whatever valuable family stories they may have. These people won't be around forever; don't delay. Too much of interest can be lost forever. DNA research is also newly enriching understandings of genealogy. Just with a swipe of a brush in the mouth one can find out what cultural groups one is made up from going back about six generations and where were ones further back ancient ancestors. I don't understand everything as yet, and there is always more to do, more to discover. If any specialists in any area can enrich here the tree I myself present then please do so, you are most welcome.

A pretty simple chart in the form of a tree showing me, my parents and grandparents
In this genealogy website which I am here creating, each grandparent forms one of the main sections, from which the lineage of each is explored. My Grandpa, Lyall Inkster, as shown in the chart above, is descended from a Shetland island crofting family. Granny, Isabelle Bane's ancestors are from Norfolk, London and Ireland. Pop, George Harrison, his ancestors are of Wales and the Forest of Dean. And Nanny, Eileen Spencer, her people are from London, Ireland and the reputedly haunted village of Pluckley in Kent. My parents, Joanna Inkster and David Harrison, are both from the seaside town of Dovercourt, where all the grandparents ultimately settled.
Myself, I was born in France, my first ever home being in the forest of Fontainebleau. I lived in many countries, England and Wales, Germany, India, Bahrain in the Gulf, Italy, and finally back in my birthland, France. Four children of my own I had, Jai, Eleanor, Rosina and George, and two grandchildren, Rohan and Anjali. My enthusiasm for genealogy began during my 20's, having been introduced to this by some friends while staying with them in Norwich. I have since found scandals, I have found royalty, I have found poverty and tragedy, and although so British I have some dna from the Mediterranean and distant matriarchal dna from the Caucasus and Central Asia.
Nobody else in my family has ever shown an interest, such as mine, in our genealogy, but all is here for if one day some of the younger ones may take up an interest, which would be wonderful.
