The genetics George shares with a Roman man of 500 AD is here presented, for it being a good match. This Roman sample has dna not only of Rome itself but was of mixed Gallo-Roman and Hispanic-Roman, revealing a certain mixing with the peoples of France and Spain; other than which there was dna of other European tribes, particularly Illyrian and Thracian. Such a mixing of dna reflects the unity of different lands under Roman rule by which various tribe types would have found the opportunity to mix socially and marry one another. It is interesting that one can see on which chromosomes George has ancient Roman dna. The dna George and this Roman man have in common is on the 5th, 6th and 21st chromosomes. The dna shared on the 5th and 21st chromosomes is specifically of Roman origin and the dna shared on the sixth chromosome is Illyrian. |
